The correct location of the WT is important for the effective operation and the return on investments.
We recommend installing ENERGY KLIPPER-3 in the areas with the wind speed >4.5 m/s 300 days in a year. The winds with the speeds <4.5 m/s will not allow receiving the scheduled profit from the use of the WT.
We recommend installing the WT on an open site at the distance of >150 m from the buildings and the forest. If it is impossible, the WT shall be installed on the roof of a building, which will require additional costs for the construction of a mounting pad made of metal. The WT will yield profit fast, if the costs of the post or other foundation, steel or concrete mounting are eliminated. It should be noted that a hoist is required for the first assembly and subsequent maintenance, and after that – an erection tower on the motor-vehicle frame. To move them, the relevant soil profile is required. The erection tower may be especially important in the tropical areas, where during the hurricane certain protective measures are required – the disassembly of the runner blades.
Though the VAWT are designed so as to always face the wind, it is necessary to carry out the analysis of the prevailing average annual wind direction. This is done to eliminate the obstacles between the WT and the path of the prevailing wind. The wind chart for the place of the WT location is used to analyze the situation.
The following options are optimum for ENERGY KLIPPER-3 location: deserted areas with the soil unsuitable for farming, rocky, sloping mountain outskirts, coastal wastelands or structure without the risk of flooding, roofs of technical and residential buildings. It would be reasonable to plan the location of ENERGY KLIPPER-3 with the projection of installation of several dozens of ENERGY KLIPPER-3 according to the isosceles triangle with the side of the triangle equal to H (m) x 3. The installation and operation of ENERGY KLIPPER-3 does not require metallic wire ropes for the rotor reinforcement.
The packaged location of ENERGY KLIPPER-3 would be rational for creating a field of commercial power generation and its subsequent feeding to 220 V /50 Hz grid.
